Always the Same Accusing CAP, Sally Smith
In our area alone, the same accusing CAP, Sally Smith has been falsy accusing many families in Pinellas County and surrounding Sarasota areas that have contacted me since our case need. She worked for All Children's Hospital from 1990-2002 and was the Clinical Practice Director for General Pediatrics. I believe this is mainly one reason the doctors who work at All Children's will not go against her; loyalty. Interestingly enough, she is the one that says "inflicted" in mostly every case that comes to her from All Children's Hospital when any child under 2 is seen with brain bleeds, fractures, or anything that mimic the SBS or AHT "triad". She makes the decision based on her own personal non-medical opinion and instead uses her own assumptions of guilt based on whether the parents are credible. Interestingly enough, she spends less than ten minutes in our case with my son and anything that I told her happened the day of his seizures, was not the story line she wanted. In our case, she made up her own narrative that our son was "slammed on a soft surface", since there was no bruising, or anything else wrong with our son. Her favorite verbiage when she accuses parentis "inflicted, blunt force trauma, shaken multiple times, or slammed on a soft surface." The child's own treating doctors at All Children's will never put anything on records that say it's abuse and leave it up to Sally Smith. She is apparently more knowlegeable than nuerosurgeons, neurologists, and radiologist, hematologists and any other Dr. that has a speciality. It's a known fact that child abuse doctors are paid to find abuse, even in cases where abuse never occurred. Bottom line, being a CAP is a conflict of interest, because they are paid to find abuse.
